Modular Building: Hotel Edition

We’ve covered modular home building from tiny homes to huge custom cabins. But what about hotels? More hotels are beginning to use modular construction because of how minimal the impact is around the build site.

Modular Building: Hotel Edition

We recently posted on our Facebook about how Marriott Hotels is one of the companies using modular building. The impact around the construction zone doesn’t last for several months or even a year, it’s just a few days.

That means that streets don’t need to be shut down and noise levels for surrounding buildings don’t last for months. Instead, it’s all being done in a warehouse in a controlled environment.

According to Modularhomecoach.com, “They (Marriott) are currently in the process of signing contracts for 50 modular hotels this year and if what they presented to their franchisees at their annual meeting where they gave a green light for more of them to go modular, that number could climb to 300 hotels over the next 24 months.”

Modular building for hotels is expected to increase in popularity over the next few years. In more populated areas, this will save a lot of headache from neighbors and commuters alike.
